Self Taped Auditions

The Benefits of Self Taped Auditions

If you are an actor, along with having a good head shot, you should also have a self-taped audition readily available. You can then e-mail your self-taped audition to the casting office or production team. Self taped auditions have many advantages, one of which is that you can audition for a part even when you’re out of town or not personally able to go in person.

In order to find success with your self-taped audition, the video needs to meet the technical expectations of those viewing it. In other words, not only do you need to be seen, but you also need to be heard. If the person viewing your audition can’t see you due to poor lighting or can’t hear you, they will quickly move on to the next one. For this reason, you will need the right equipment to record your self-taped audition, or better yet, get it professionally made.
